In Rotterdam, a new multifunctional district is being developed on the grounds of a former football complex. Part of the new campus will be an education and sports centre. The multi-storey buildings will create height differences, forming a beautiful park with squares, gardens and stairways. A narrow, elongated pond will border one of the squares.
Our trusted partner Joosten Groep turned to NPI for the installation of the pond liner. As the pond is situated on top of a bicycle parking deck, it was essential to ensure complete watertightness. The shape of the pond posed quite a challenge, with several corners and complex details for fixing the liner.
Our team welded the liner, composed of several panels, together on site. The pond will store rainwater from the surrounding buildings.
A great result achieved together with Joosten Groep, and a beautiful contribution to a sustainable and green campus area in the heart of Rotterdam!
