In the south of the country, we got to work at a tree nursery. This 15-hectare tree nursery has 12 hectares of open field cultivation, 1,5 hectares of glass cultivation and film tunnels and 1,5 hectares of container cultivation. They mainly grow conifers and shrubs.
The grower has a water basin for irrigation installed, the embankment protection of which needed to be replaced after 20 years. The nursery opted for the heaviest protection, 270 gsm geotextile. Our team supervised pulling out the geotextile and installed the geotextile on the embankments, using a portable sewing machine. They finished the embankment protection with a 50 cm tile border around the bassin.
The geotextile protects the film from weather influences, UV radiation and animals.
