Together with our long-standing partner Joosten Groep, we recently completed a great project in Veghel: the installation of a buffer field.
1000 m² LDPE
Our specialists welded three custom LDPE sheets together to cover a crate field of over 1000 m². The custom sheets were installed on top of a protective geotextile layer. The client then placed the crates, which we wrapped in foil and covered again with geotextile. Finally, the field will be filled with sand and rubble, followed by paving.
Buffering waste water from commercial building
The crate field is situated next to a commercial building that is yet to be constructed. It will buffer waste water from the building, preventing it from immediately overloading the sewer system or running off on the surface. Instead, the water is temporarily stored in the crates and slowly infiltrates into the soil.
The water can be discharged to the sewer in a delayed way. It is also possible to reuse the stored water for purposes as irrigation and cleaning. A combination of both is also possible.
Supporting water management in urban areas
This system is ideal for urban areas where space for natural infiltration is limited. By managing stormwater on-site, pressure on the sewer network is reduced, helping to prevent flooding—something increasingly important due to climate change.
