Roelof started his career at NPI 13 years ago. His original plan was to work as a sports coach; teaching and training children. When that didn’t work out, NPI became a great alternative. Fun fact: his role at NPI still shares similarities with his original ambition. What are Roelof’s tasks at NPI, and what drives him?
Efficient warehouse operations
He joined NPI as a warehouse employee and grew into his current role as warehouse manager over time. Today, he is responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient running of our warehouse operations. This includes overseeing order shipments, incoming goods, storage, workplace organisation and the improvement of processes. Of course, he doesn’t do this alone; he leads and supports the warehouse team in their daily work.
Learning and growing on the job
One of the things Roelof enjoys most is training and supporting employees. Some colleagues join NPI during or after their studies, with little experience. Helping them grow into employees who do their job well, take responsibility and find their place in the team is something he finds rewarding.
Continuous improvement
Roelof is also constantly looking for ways to improve warehouse operations and take things to the next level. He enjoys progress and helping the warehouses and company move forward. He also learned a lot about (process) optimisation during courses in warehouse and team management.
